Thanks for visiting the official website for The CHORDS Vocal
Ensemble. We appreciate your interest!
CHORDS is a very unique musical group. We are an ensemble of
male voices singing traditional, contemporary and gospel music. CHORDS is fortunate to have had many very talented singers throughout our history. We miss having some of our original singers with us nowadays, but Shawn, James, Bill and Carl soldier-on! The CHORDS ensemble was formed in 1988. During our first four years together CHORDS was very busy singing concerts and special events in the Fort Wayne, Indiana area. We sang the "The Star-Spangled Banner" for both the Three Rivers Festival Parade in 1989 and later a Wizards baseball game. We also enjoyed performing dozens of concerts at churches and community social functions.
As an ensemble, we took a rather long hiatus from 1992 to 2004. We didn't all sing together again until the Fall of 2004. After only one four-hour rehearsal on a sunny afternoon in September, we made our comeback debut at Saint Joseph United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne. After twelve years, it felt as though we had never parted. In other words, it felt great!
Since that special day back in 2004, we have sung over 350 concerts, worship services and special programs. In February 2006, we recorded our first CD, "Lovin' Life." We recorded a second CD, "In God We Still Trust" in August 2007 and released our third CD, "Going Home" in June 2011. We hope you will take a moment to listen to a few excerpts on our MUSIC page.
CHORDS is pleased to have, since 2011, Mr. Alexander Klepach as our keyboard accompanist. He is immensely talented, and we love his monumental playing skills as well as his wonderful personality! CHORDS is currently scheduling our 2015 programs and concerts, and we are planning a very special CHORDS REUNION CONCERT on Sunday, November 21st, 2015 where our current singers will join forces with some of our former members to present many of our favorite tunes from our large library of songs. It's gonna be a wonderful evening of music and fellowship, and we sincerely hope you'll plan to be in attendance!
Thanks again for stopping by - please take some time to learn more about our MEMBERS. They are a motley crew! God's blessings upon you and your family.
